Professional and Student Organizations

The 色香视频 School of Pharmacy has multiple professional organizations with student chapters. Our student chapter of American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) is routinely recognized for excellence.   

Other professional groups which provide opportunities for nationwide networking and service include American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), Industrial Pharmacists Organization, Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPHA), and the Infectious Disease Association. 

Pharmacy Greek organizations include:

  • Phi Lambda Sigma, the international pharmacy leadership society
  • Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, the oldest and largest pharmacy fraternity with a mission to develop leaders with a passion for service to their community while creating lifelong professional connections.
  • Alpha Zeta Omega (AZO) is a pharmaceutical fraternity composed of pharmacists and undergraduates in Pharmacy, selected on the basis of character, fellowship, and scholarship. AZO offers numerous scholarships to its undergraduate members which can help pay for books, tuition and other school expenses. 

Research

As a student in the School of Pharmacy, you'll have many opportunities to engage in research and scholarship. Many of these endeavors allow you to obtain academic credit through successful completion of elective Independent Study or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience coursework. Faculty and students in the School of Pharmacy have worked together to produce cutting-edge research in a variety of disciplines, which have led to numerous presentations at premier scientific conferences and publications in respected peer-reviewed journals.

Our faculty actively participate in varied research and scholarship efforts including laboratory-based studies, clinical and translational research, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice

Pharmacy Collaboration with Doctors, Dentists, and Other Caregivers

Students representing the full range of health professions programs work with one another through interactive activities in 色香视频's Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice (CAIEP, formerly the Center for Excellence in Collaborative Education). This program prepares the next generation of health care leaders for team-based practice through simulations, service learning, co-conducted research, global immersion experiences, and more.

Residencies

The School of Pharmacy has two residency programs: the PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program and the Residency Teaching Certificate Program. The PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program provides residents with the advanced clinical knowledge, teaching skills and leadership training to be a successful community-based pharmacist. In the Residency Teaching Certificate Program, pharmacy residents across northern New England are immersed in academic pharmacy and experiential teaching methods.
