Dr. Kang received her Bachelor of Medicine degree from the Capital Medical University, China in 1997. She practiced five years before joining the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry for graduate education. Dr. Kang received a Ph.D. in Oral Biology and then moved to Rochester, NY for advanced training in clinical research and General Dentistry. She completed a clinical research fellowship in 2011, an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 2013, and a General Practice Residency in 2014. Dr. Kang is a member of the American Dental Education Association, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and a faculty member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. In addition to educational research, she is also interested in conducting patient-based translational research in an academic environment.
