Dr. Smith is the Chief of Psychiatry and an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry.  He leads the Division of Psychiatry as well as the 色香视频COM OMS-II Psychiatry Curriculum and is the clinical 3rd-year Discipline Chief of Psychatry.  He also is Immediate Past Chair of the COM Curriculum Committee (Curriculum Advisory Committee, CAC).  He is a Diplomat of the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP) and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA), Federation of State Medical Boards (FFSMB), American College of Osteopathic Neuropsychiatrists (FACN), and of the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (FNAOME). He advises our Neuropsychiatry Club and also is co-advisor for the Gold Humanism Award. He was named 2014-2015 色香视频COM Clinical Faculty Member of the Year as well as 2016 Maine Osteopathic Association Young Physician of the Year, and 2018 American Osteopathic Foundation's (AOF's) James Lally, D.O., Emerging Leader of the Year. He is Chair of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Clinical Neurosciences at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) and previously was Examination Chair for COMAT Psychiatry. He also serves on the Maine Board of Osteopathic Licensure as a Board Member. He recently completed a Ph.D. in education and leadership in the health sciences, and is starting work on an MBA in Healthcare Administration.
