Michele Delenick, M.D.
Michele Delenick, M.D., director of Student Health Services, drives efforts to improve the visibility of the Student Health Centers across both Portland and Biddeford campuses, ensuring the provision of high-quality services to 色香视频鈥檚 students. With the transition of Student Health Services under the Division of Student Affairs, she is part of an interdepartmental team recognized nationally for leading the way in the development of a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
She trained as an occupational therapist at Quinnipiac University, going on to work as an OT at Maine General Medical Center before moving to the Thomas Jefferson University Health System in Pennsylvania. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont in Burlington and returned to Maine to complete her internal medicine residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Delenick has over 15 years of experience specializing in internal medicine, managing the acute and chronic medical conditions of young adults. In her role as chief of Internal Medicine at InterMed, Delenick led strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives, operations management, and budgeting and worked diligently to meet quality assurance metrics. She has also led clinical and nonclinical teams through cross-departmental projects and the development of new services to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Prior to her work at InterMed, Delenick was a hospitalist at Maine Medical Partners, where she was responsible for admitting, discharging, and managing the care of hospitalized adult patients. This included supervising medical students and residents, collaborating with other physicians and specialists, and participating in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives. Throughout her career, Delenick has cultivated strong relationships with specialists across Maine, facilitating positive patient health outcomes. She has also chaired many committees, including an InterMed committee that developed DEI-driven health care guidelines.
