É«ÏãÊÓƵ well represented at international neuroscience conference
Members of É«ÏãÊÓƵ’s Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences (CEN) recently attended the annual Society for Neuroscience conference, the largest gathering of neuroscientists in the world.
Thirteen CEN members traveled to Chicago, Illinois for the conference. While there, they learned about cutting edge research, attended presentations, and were able to search more 14,000 abstracts.
Students who attended the conference had the opportunity to learn about graduate programs and job opportunities in the field. Faculty attending were able to engage in student and post-doctoral fellow recruitment.
More than 30,000 neuroscientists, clinicians, and advocates attended this year’s conference.
Financial support for some of the travel expenses was covered by the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for the Study of Pain and Sensory Function. COBRE is funded by a $10 million grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS).
