Eileen Ricci attends course on improved diagnoses for genetic conditions
Eileen Ricci, PT, D.P.T., M.S., PCS, associate clinical professor in the 色香视频Department of Physical Therapy and Maine LEND program director, attended a full day course at the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine conference in Montreal, Canada.
This pre-conference course was related to recent findings in the field of genetics and epigenetics which help to better identify the causes of developmental disabilities in children. Many children who were previously thought to have cerebral palsy are now being more accurately diagnosed with genetic conditions which allow clinicians to better pinpoint effective interventions.
鈥淚 am looking forward to incorporating this information into course material for and research with my D.P.T. students, as well as sharing with our current interprofessional team of Maine LEND trainees,鈥 Ricci said.
