‘Sun Chronicle’ features story on history students’ WWII letters exhibit
On January 13, 2015, the Sun Chronicle featured an article about É«ÏãÊÓƵ’s current exhibit titled "Write Again Soon: Letters from World War II," which is on display at the Jack Ketchum Library on the Biddeford Campus.
The exhibit, created by students in a history course taught by Elizabeth DeWolfe, Ph.D., professor and chair in the Department of History and Philosophy, uses letters, photographs and other material to explore three World War II themes: the home front, the frontlines, and romance and relationships.
"You can’t read these letters and not be moved," DeWolfe stated. "Life had to go on despite the war, and to me that’s the remarkable story…These letters capture the everydayness of living through a great event."
The exhibit will be on display through mid-April.
