Campus Center presents artworks in “Pathways and Places: The Pigment of our Imagination”

Artwork by Susan Mesick and Sheila Clough will be on display in an exhibit titled “Pathways and Places: The Pigment of our Imagination” at the University of New England’s Biddeford Campus Center from August 3 to September 10, 2015. An opening reception will be held there on Friday, August 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Clough and Mesick, both of Southern Maine, collaborated in the creation of the exhibit, which not only demonstrates their individual artistic voices but also their complementary styles.

Mesick works in oil and pastel, drawing inspiration from the local landscape, particularly nature’s pathways. She views the pathway as a metaphor for mystery and discovery.

For the past two years, Clough has been intrigued with the challenge of depicting place in her work. Her pieces are influenced by her travels from the Southwest to the Northeast and combine imagination, perspective and strong color.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. ɫƵ’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email  or phone (207-284-6394).
