Noah Perlut publishes article in 'The Auk'

Noah Perlut, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Studies, co-authored an article that was recently published in the journal The Auk.  David Perkins 鈥13, an environmental science major, served as a co-author.

The paper, titled 鈥淢inor Fitness Benefits for Edge Avoidance in Nesting Grassland Birds in the Northeastern United States,鈥 discusses a study from which the researchers concluded that grassland songbirds in Vermont avoided nesting near their habitat edges, but for those who nested close to the edges, only minor consequences of predation resulted.
