Julie Longua Peterson presents at annual meeting of Society for Personality and Social Psychology
Julie Longua Peterson, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology, presented her research on January 17, 2013, at the 14th annual conference of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP).
Peterson鈥檚 work, titled 鈥(De)Valuing the Roommate Relationship,鈥 reveals how conflict in the roommate relationship effects implicit (automatic, unconscious) evaluations of roommates and future negative behavior. Her results highlight the potential for negative implicit evaluations to bias more conscious relationship expectations and behaviors.
