色香视频's visting Fulbright scholar presents lectures on biodiversity in Kenya
The University of New England's visiting Fulbright Scholar, Helida Oyieke, will present two lectures on the biodiversity of Kenya before she leaves at the end of the academic year.
Oyieke is currently teaching in the biology and environmental studies departments at 色香视频 as a visiting Fulbright Scholar. She is the director for Research and Collection at the National Museums of Kenya, a natural history-based museum centered in Nairobi, Kenya, where she oversees and provides general leadership on research and collection programs in the institution. She also teaches on a part-time basis at the University of Nairobi.
On March 29, 2011, Oyieke will present a lecture entitled, "Biodiversity Conservation in Kenya." This lecture will be held at the CIEE office, 300 Fore Street, Portland, Maine from 12:00-1:00 p.m. CIEE and The World Affairs Council of Maine are the sponsors of this lecture.
On April 6, 2011, Oyieke will present another lecture entitled, "Biodiversity: Kenya's Rich Heritage and Its Conservation." This lecture will be held on The University of New England's Biddeford Campus in the Campus Center from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
In both lectures, Oyieke will discuss the richness of Kenya's heritage, its usage, threats and conservation efforts. She will also point out the country's contribution towards global conservation efforts.
Both lectures are free and open to the public.
