Grassland birds in New England
Many of us get asked, "when should I tell my neighbor it is safe to hay his meadow? I don't want the baby bobolinks to get chopped up!" Well here is a great chance to have those questions answered.
This talk will explore the life-histories of resident grassland species, particularly Bobolinks and Savannah Sparrows, focusing on how their ecology is affected by agricultural management. Perhaps most important, I will describe diverse management options that can benefit
both land managers and birds.
